We Are Hiring for the 2026 Season!

Part-time Farm Hand

Sauntering Roots Farm is a small-scale, diversified vegetable, female-run farm. The farm grows at two locations - one near the base of Lazy Mountain in the Butte, which is our “home” spot, and on Outer Springer loop. The farm is seeking a part-time farm hand for the 2025 season, starting the first week of May through mid to late October.

The farm hand will work on a wide variety of tasks including, but not limited to: preparing beds for planting, hauling wheelbarrows of compost, transplanting, weeding, and harvesting and washing vegetables for a weekly farmers market and CSA. The position may also include working the Wednesday farmers market, either every week or from time to time. All farm hands work directly with farm owner, Brandi Jo, but the ability to work independently is a must.

The farm operates on two separate locations, both located approximately 5 minutes from downtown Palmer. Working location each day will vary depending on the weekly task list.

No experience necessary, but a background working in a manual labor job is appreciated. The job requires heavy lifting, bending and working on knees for an extended period of time, and a willingness to complete repetitive tasks. You must be comfortable and properly equipped for working outside during all types of weather conditions.

The position will be 10-15 hours a week. The specific days of the week are flexible, but help is needed on Mondays/Tuesdays and Thursdays/Fridays. Compensation: $16/hour and farm veggies.
